After a phenomenal summer of festivals, Ticketmaster is thrilled to announce its role as the Official Ticketing Partner for the prestigious UK Festival Awards 2023. Set to take place on December 5 at Manchester’s Escape to Freight Island, this year’s awards promise to be a celebration like no other.

The UK Festival Awards stand out as the only awards entirely dedicated to festivals, offering fans the unique opportunity to cast their votes for their favourite events. Expert panels will decide the remaining awards, featuring esteemed categories such as ‘Outstanding Contribution’, ‘Best Festival Production’, and the newly introduced ‘Transport Impact Innovator Award,’ presented in collaboration with Ecolibrium. This new category recognises organisers committed to addressing the significant sustainability challenge of travel-related emissions. The Festival Awards aim to inspire others by showcasing pioneering efforts in this area, urging the industry to rise to the occasion.

Andy Lenthall, Chief Executive Officer, expressed, “The return to Freight Island was a no-brainer, given the fantastic reaction to the amazing venue. As always, we’re sincerely grateful for the continued support of Ticketmaster in being the lead enabler of the UK Festival Sector’s big party.”

The ticketing for this year’s event will be powered by Ticketmaster’s Universe platform. Universe has provided ticketing for various industry awards such as the Heavy Music Awards, and has become a key ticketing platform for gigs, festivals, exhibitions, attractions, and self-service ticketing.

Tim Goom, Client Development Director – Music at Ticketmaster UK, will be presenting the award for the new category, ‘Best Micro Festival’. Tim emphasised “Micro festivals provide intimate and unique experiences that often go unnoticed. Acknowledging their contribution is essential for the continued diversity and vibrancy of the festival landscape.”

At Ticketmaster we look forward to spending the evening with festival organisers and suppliers from across the UK to reflect on the busy 2023 festival season whilst looking forward to the next.
