Festival fans crowd surfing

As the countdown to Download Festival 2025 begins, with just five weeks left, Ticketmaster has revealed that 44% of this year’s ticket buyers are first-time attendees- signalling a near 50/50 split between new faces and returning fans. Taking place from June 11–15, 2025, at Donington Park, this year’s festival (DLXXII) will be headlined by Green Day, Sleep Token, and Korn, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all fans. This year’s edition also sees standout performances from acts like McFly, The Darkness, and Vengaboys across the main arena and expanded District X, adding a fresh twist to the festival experience.

Marie Ladisch, Head of Marketing for Music and Festivals at Ticketmaster UK, commented: “It’s great to see so many new fans exploring a festival that’s been around for more than twenty years and discover all the alternative music and on-site highlights Download has to offer. We’ve been working closely with Live Nation in utilising our insights to create bespoke marketing support and encouraging more new fans to join the mosh pits at Donington as well as reminding existing festival goers what they’d be missing out on.”

Download Festival’s Beyond The Bands experience is also expanding, with a major focus on wellness. From heavy metal talking therapy and secular addiction support to yoga sessions, quiet spaces for sensory overload, and alcohol-free bars, the festival is offering a holistic experience for all attendees. Fans can also enjoy vinyl stores, live blacksmithing workshops, coffee shops, and even skate ramps for added entertainment.

As Download Festival prepares to welcome back its loyal community, both the festival and Ticketmaster are excited to greet new fans at the gates and box office, eager to introduce them to all the incredible experiences this year’s event has to offer.
