ABBA Voyage set to bring thousands of fans from around the globe to London in 2022
The revolutionary new concert ABBA Voyage launching in Spring 2022 went on sale with extra dates this month for October through to December, taking ticket sales to more than 300,000 across nearly 200 performances.
A staggering 28% of these fans have booked from overseas, bringing thousands of tourists from every continent of the world to London next year. This positive indicator of increased fan confidence in travelling internationally in 2022 is a great signal to those in the live entertainment industry who rely on international tourism to thrive.
The international city with the highest number of bookers is Stockholm where ABBA famously formed in 1972, with nearby Gothenburg as well as Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Berlin housing the highest number of bookers outside the UK.
The furthest distance registered for an ABBA Voyage booker is over 10,000 miles away in Sydney in Australia, which is testament to the love and adoration of ABBA fans across the world, and the excitement for these spectacular concerts taking place at the purpose-built ABBA Arena at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
Reports also show that the most popular event dates booked by international bookers fall on a Sunday, suggesting that fans will make more than a flying visit and take in what London and the UK has to offer.
As well as crossing continents, ABBA Voyage is also crossing generations. 50-60 year olds who would have been in their teenage years during ABBA’s 70’s and 80s hits make up the highest age demographic for ABBA Voyage bookers, however many younger fans are booking too, with 1 in 10 ABBA bookers aged under 24.
ABBA Voyage is now booking until 4 December 2022. Buy tickets on Ticketmaster.
