Today a star studded O2 Silver Clef Awards ceremony presented by Edith Bowman took place at JW Marriott, Grosvenor House, London to raise vital cash for the UK’s largest music therapy charity, Nordoff Robbins.
Artists, celebrity supporters and influencers gathered to honour, recognise and celebrate artists from across the music industry including Griff who was presented with the Best Newcomer Award, sponsored by Ticketmaster.
After receiving news about the award Griff said: “Receiving the Ticketmaster Best Newcomer Award is such an honour and it’s a privilege to be supporting the life changing work of Nordoff Robins, a charity who helps those who need it most. Through music therapy, they help children affected by illness or disability find a sense of connection and joy. I’m very grateful to be a part of the awards this year.”
Becky Hill, Tom Walker, Kano, Tems, YUNGBLUD and London Grammar were also amongst this year’s winners, with the iconic Peter Gabriel winning the coveted O2 Silver Clef Award, the legendary Frankie Valli being honoured with the Icon Award and Jools Holland OBE receiving the accolade for Outstanding Achievement.
Since 1976, through the power of music, the awards have raised over £11 million for Nordoff Robbins’. Returning after a two-year break due to the pandemic, this years’ awards has raised over £750,000 thanks to table sales, sponsorship and special auctions, delivering a huge fundraising boost for Nordoff Robbins enabling its music therapists to support some of the most vulnerable people in the UK.
