Walt Disco, Nasty Cherry and more have been announced to play DIY Magazine’s first SXSW showcase of the year, co-presented by Ticketmaster New Music.

The event will be at the British Music Embassy’s new SXSW home – Cedar Street Courtyard. As one of the largest venues at the festival, it will give young artists the opportunity to play to 450 festival delegates, twice the size of the previous venue.

Sarah Jamieson, Managing Editor of DIY: “It’s incredible to be heading back to SXSW this year, and we’re even more thrilled to be joining the DIT at the new British Music Embassy location. Having worked closely alongside SXSW themselves, we’re certain that our line-up with Ticketmaster New Music UK is going to be one to remember, and it’s amazing to know that we’ll be supporting a slew of DIY favourites – including our Class of 2020 alumni Walt Disco and Nasty Cherry – while we’re over in Austin!”

Jonathan West, Marketing Director, Ticketmaster Artist Services:”We’re really excited to be supporting fresh British talent as they begin to forge international careers. The British Music Embassy is known throughout SXSW for it’s incredible sound.”

Walt Disco were first profiled by the Ticketmaster New Music team last year as part of their Homecoming Glasgow mini-documentary, followed by Nasty Cherry in January as part of a new music feature on Ticketmaster’s discover site.

DIY and Ticketmaster New Music will also be taking part in the speed dating events organised by the DIT to share their experience of helping bands from first gigs to cover stars.
