The BRIT Awards took place at The O2 Arena in London on Wednesday 20 February 2019. 

The annual music awards, presented by British comedian Jack Whitehall, distributed awards for 14 categories to recognise the biggest and best achievements in popular music, including Mastercard British Album of the Year, Best British Breakthrough for emerging acts and Outstanding Contribution to Music award. 

Many of the night’s winners are Ticketmaster Artist Services clients, with whom we have worked closely along with their labels, management and talent agents on numerous and varying campaigns in recent months. Outstanding contribution to music WINNER: P!NK

Receiving the night’s biggest award was multiplatinum selling US singer-songwriter P!NK, who celebrates two decades operating at the very highest level in popular music Late last year, the star announced she would bring her Beautiful Trauma World tour to the UK and Ireland for Summer 2019. To ensure that P!NK’s fans had the fairest and best access to tickets over professional resellers and bots, UK promoter Marshall Arts employed Ticketmaster International as the tour’s official ticket seller, utilising Ticketmaster’s exclusive Verified Fan mechanic. She also offered fans a commemorative 3D lenticular Collector Ticket which proved to be the biggest-Selling Collector Ticket in 2018. Read the full story here.

British group & British album of the year WINNER: The 1975

Also picking up gongs were Manchester’s The 1975, who won in the Best Group and Best Album categories. For their commercially and critically acclaimed third album A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, Ticketmaster Artist Services teamed up with the band’s label Dirty Hit (Polydor Universal), agent Primary and promoter Festival Republic to deliver a high profile album pre-order and tour presale ticketing campaign in January this year. 

British male solo artist WINNER: George Ezra

Closer Management’s George Ezra scoped another BRIT Award thanks to the success of his sophomore album Staying at Tamara’s which features the hit singles Shotgun and Paradise. His label Sony and management have frequently used Ticketmaster Artist Services throughout the singer-songwriter’s career on anti-resale measures for intimate shows plus artist presales – including a hugely successful one for his biggest tour yet.  British breakthrough act WINNER: Tom Walker

Scottish singer-songwriter Tom Walker looked genuinely shocked when he was announced as the breakthrough winner at The O2 on Wednesday night. A very worthy winner, Walker has been making waves since the release of his single Leave a Light On which features on his forthcoming debut album What A Time to Be Alive which is out on Relentless Records / Sony Music in March 2019. Artist Services caught Tom live at Eurosonic festival, Groningen, and even got to celebrate a great performance with a cup of tea backstage with him! In addition, TicketWeb has been long-time supporter of Walker’s, running features on the artist at every stage of his developing career, as well as featuring Tom in our New For 2018 list. 

Label Sony Music have partnered with Artist Services for three of Tom’s UK tours, including his biggest in 2019 which included a DTC album pre-order mechanic to give fans who buy the album chance to buy tickets via an exclusive TicketWeb presale
