Ticketmaster hosted brunch on the beach at The Great Escape with Music Venue Trust (MVT) – the charity created to protect, secure and improve UK grassroots music venues – with some exciting announcements made.

Our very own Andrew Parsons (shown below) announced a brand new MVT donation option on the Ticketmaster website, with a £1.5 million grant to grassroots music venues and promoters then pledged by the Arts Council England. Live Nation’s Phil Bowdery followed up announcing the use of Apprenticeship Levy funds to support apprentices in grassroots music venues.

Andrew Parsons, MD Ticketmaster UK, said: “All of these announcements are a huge step forward for grassroots venues – venues that are the beating heart of the music industry, without them British talent doesn’t have a place to grow into the next Lewis Capaldi or Mabel. As a long-time supporter of MVT, we’re excited to announce we’ll be giving fans the opportunity to add a donation to MVT through our website. With millions of digital users annually, this will also give unparalleled visibility to MVT and the significant work they do to keep grassroots venues alive and well for us all.”
